Stardust Bug
NO.317

Stardust Bug

Bug Phase I Original Form

A species born when Roco and elves began forming contracts. It feeds on elf contracts and is extremely rare. After swallowing a Gulu Ball whole, it stores it in its body for a period of time before fully digesting it much later. Though it can eat other food, it struggles to obtain nutrients from it.

Recommended Skill Sets

Devotion Support Build

Playstyle

Lead/mid-rotation support, stack Dedication through 0-cost skill cycling, disrupt enemies then switch in main damage dealer

Why this set works

Utilize Feign Sleep + Insect Formation to rapidly stack Devotion layers for the team, Dazzling disrupts enemy output rhythm, Rest restores HP to ensure self-survival. This build completely abandons damage output, focusing on team support and disruption, suitable as lead or pivot to create advantages for subsequent main attackers.

Feigned Sleep

Why pick this skill

Core Support skill. 0 energy cost recovers 2 Energy and stacks Dedication (Energy Cost -2) for the team. Combines self Energy cycling with team buffs.

Bug Formation

Why pick this skill

High damage reduction (80%) response skill. Provides random Dedication to the team after being hit, forming a Dedication stacking system with Feign Sleep.

Dazzling

Why pick this skill

Disruption skill: reduces enemy Combo count by 4, effectively interrupting high-combo offense tempo, with excellent 0 Energy cost value.

Rest and Recover

Why pick this skill

Sustain skill, restores 30% HP, compensates for Star Dust Bug's fragile body, extending field presence time

Devotion Output Build

Playstyle

Attempting limited damage output through Devotion stacking, but with low damage expectations—more of a for-fun build.

Why this set works

Attempting to use the Fly Cut → Feign Sleep → Swarm's Devotion cycle for damage output, but limited by Stardustling's low base stats. This build is only recommended when damage is mandatory or as a transitional setup.

Flying Sever

Why pick this skill

Physical damage + Dedication stacking: 20 energy cost provides Dedication (+20 power) for the team, one of Stardust Bug's rare damage-and-support skills

Swarm

Why pick this skill

Stall Devotion physical damage skill, 1 combo base, each Devotion layer enhances effect, combines with Flying Cut's Devotion stacking to form a cycle

Feigned Sleep

Why pick this skill

0 Energy cost, restores 2 Energy and stacks Devotion (cost -2). Ensures energy supply and skill cycle for Flying Cut/Swarm.

Rest and Recover

Why pick this skill

Sustain guarantee: recovers 30% HP, maintaining HP line when attempting damage output

Disruption Pivot Style

Playstyle

Targeted pivoting: disrupt enemy tempo through counter skills, protect core teammates for safe entry, or force switches on key enemy creatures.

Why this set works

Dual Counter skills (Cover + Intimidate) + Dazzling form triple disruption. Specifically for breaking enemy tempo and protecting ally entry. Cover's damage reduction inheritance and Intimidate's forced swap are highly targeted, but energy management is demanding. Needs Rest for recovery to maintain field presence.

Cover

Why pick this skill

70% damage reduction + Emergency Retreat. Next entering pet gains damage reduction protection after countering attacks. Excellent pivot protection skill.

Intimidate

Why pick this skill

60% damage reduction Counter skill. Forces enemy pet switch when hit. Can interrupt enemy buff rhythm or force unfavorable matchups.

Dazzling

Why pick this skill

0 Energy Interference: Reduces enemy combo by 4, combines with Cover/Intimidate response mechanics for double interference

Rest and Recover

Why pick this skill

Sustain recovery, guarantees survival after multiple uses of Cover/Intimidate

Notes
  • Stardust Bug is a Stage I Bug-type creature with low base stats (307), Speed 60 is acceptable but both offenses and defenses are unremarkable, positioned as a functional support/disruptor-type creature
  • Trait 'Shape of Contract' depends on capture ball used, unstable in actual combat, builds should not overly rely on trait
  • Skill pool focuses on Physical damage, but power is generally low. Magic damage only has Bug Sting and Bug Curse, with high Energy cost.
  • Possesses a unique 'Devotion' system: Flying Cut, Feigned Sleep, and Insect Formation can stack Devotion layers for the team, while Bite and Swarm can consume Devotion for buffs
  • Possesses multiple defense/disruption skills: Dazzling (reduces combo), Cover (damage reduction + switch-in protection), Bug Formation (high damage reduction + sacrifice), Intimidate (forced pet switch), support value exceeds damage output.
  • Scavenge can dispel marks to recover HP, highly effective against mark-based systems
  • Comprehensive assessment: Star Dust Bug is more suitable as support interference, supporting teammates through dedication system rather than main DPS output
